To provide better protection for cardholders and be more effective against evolving threats on the web, VISA has announced that they will update their PCI DSS data security standard to version 4.0 effective April 1, 2024.
PCI DSS version 4.0 provides improvements including enhanced authentication & password requirements, improvement of role assignments and responsibilities for each security requirement, added flexibility for different methodologies, and enhanced validation methods.
Please note that PCI DSS v.3.2.1 will be discontinued after March 31, 2025, after upgrading to version 4.0.
