(December 20, 2017 – Singapore) Austreme, a forensic fintech and big data analytics company, has announced that the company has joined the Asia Pacific Financial Coalition Against Child Pornography (APAC-FCACP), an initiative of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC).

ICMEC launched the APAC-FCACP in 2009 to broaden the battle against the online sale and dissemination of child sexual exploitation materials, following the success of the U.S. FCACP. The APAC-FCACP provides a platform for a diverse stakeholder group to share best practices, leverage expertise, and collaborate to combat online child exploitation. APAC-FCACP members include banks, credit card companies, electronic payments networks, online third-party payment systems, Internet companies, technology companies, social networking platforms, industry associations, law enforcement agencies, and NGOs.

Mr. Terence Chau, Director of Austreme said, “With reference to the work of ICMEC, and the purpose and goals of the APAC-FCACP, we are excited about this partnership and look forward to contributing to global efforts to combat commercial child sexual abuse and exploitation. By joining as a team member of the APAC-FCACP’s Technology Challenges Work stream, Austreme will collaborate with the stream and identify any nefarious activities that may relate to child sexual exploitation materials found in our ever-increasing big data which is composed of 30 million websites.”

Ms. Bindu Sharma, Asia Policy Director of ICMEC also said, “ICMEC is delighted to have Austreme join the APAC Financial Coalition and add their strength to the coalition’s Asia Pacific membership. Technology solution providers have a vital role to play, as they are uniquely well equipped to detect illegal content on Internet platforms, providing key insights on the extent and scope of the issue; and on new trends in criminal online activity.”
